The Report Builder allows MachineMetrics users to create customized reports using selected metrics, groupings, and filters. This feature helps teams analyze performance trends, compare machine or shift activity, and visualize production data through charts and tables.

3. How It Works
The Report Builder retrieves data directly from MachineMetrics and applies the user’s selected:
Date ranges
Metrics
Groupings
Filters
Users can dynamically build reports, visualize production trends, and export the results.
4. How to Use It
Accessing the Report Builder
Open the Reports section in the sidebar.
Click Create Report.
Selecting Your Date & Time Range
Choose from preset ranges or create a custom range.
Enabling Use custom hours allows hourly-level detail.
Reports covering many days will be grouped in full 24-hour blocks.
Selecting Data Metrics
Choose metrics in the Selected Data tab.
Select All / Deselect All options are available per category.
Click Hide Controls to maximize chart space.
Some metrics are restricted based on grouping choices (e.g., Downtime metrics when grouping by Hour).
Choosing Chart Types
Each metric can be displayed as either a bar chart or line chart.
Group By Options
Select up to three groups.
Order matters—deselect and reselect to change hierarchy.
Time-based grouping options include:
Quarter
Month
Week
Day
Hour
Rules:
Hour-level grouping available only for ranges ≤ 1 week
Hour grouping disables other time intervals and Shift
Larger → smaller intervals only (e.g., Week then Day)
Filter By Options
Use the Filter By tab to refine the report.
A search field is available when filters contain many values.
Actions Menu
Open the Actions menu in the top right for all report actions.
Saving Reports
Save Report adds it to Owned By Me and Company Reports.
Toggle Public to allow other users to load the report.
Save as Copy
Creates a copy of another user’s report under your account.
Create New Report
Starts a new session and clears all current selections.
Deleting Reports
The user who created the report can delete it.
IT Admin users can delete any report, regardless of who created it.
Exporting
Export Table → Exports a CSV (Manager or Executive required).
Export Chart → Saves the visualization only.

Begin with broad selections and refine using filters.
Use Public reports to standardize views across teams.
Group by Hour only when analyzing short time windows.
Hide controls when presenting charts.

Why is Group by Hour unavailable?
Range must be one week or less.Why are downtime metrics missing?
Downtime cannot be selected when grouped by Hour.Why can’t I export the table?
Requires Manager or Executive access.Why is my report blank?
Check filters, selected metrics, and date range.Can someone delete my report?
Only IT Admins can delete any report; otherwise only the creator can.
