Introduction
If your Okuma machine has the latest version of MTConnect, and the appropriate THINC API installed, but MTConnect is still not reporting correctly, it is possible that the monitoring tags have not been enabled in the initial setup of MTConnect.
Steps to Enable MT Monitoring
In order to enable monitoring tags follow these steps:
Step 1: Close the CNC machining software on your Okuma's control, and navigate to the Windows backend.
Step 2: Press 'CTRL + ///' to access the Windows 'Start' button
Step 3: Select Programs - Okuma - Okuma MTConnect Adapter - Okuma MTConnect Adapter Application
By opening the Okuma MTConnect Adapter Application, the main user interface will be displayed.
Note: you may need to enter a username and password to continue to administrative mode.
Step 4: Enter the default username and password are:
Username: Administrator
Password: okuma+osp
Step 4: Select the 'Configuration' tab on the top of the screen.
Step 5: Click the blue 'Tags Configuration' button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 6: Make sure the 'Enable Monitoring Tags' box is checked. If you make a change, click 'Save & Close'
By default, all data items are selected for monitoring.
Make sure the 'Enable Monitoring Tags' box is checked, and the data items you wish to monitor as also checked. save changes, and restart your machine.
