What Is the Declaration of Readiness?
The Declaration of Readiness (DOR) is an important step in preparing for your MachineMetrics installation. By completing this document, you confirm that the necessary prerequisites are in place so we can connect your machines smoothly and efficiently.
The DOR helps us:
• Verify that your environment is prepared for installation.
• Prevent delays caused by missing network or compliance requirements.
• Align teams across IT, operations, and leadership.
• Deliver the best possible installation experience.
This process is a collaborative readiness check. Once submitted, it signals that you are ready for installation and allows our team to move forward with confidence.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Account Executive (AE) or Solution Delivery Manager (SDM). We can also schedule a readiness review call to walk through the form together.
DOR Questions and Why They Matter
Are you ITAR Compliant?
This determines whether your facility is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). If so, it may affect how data is handled, stored, and accessed during installation.
Project Champion
The Project Champion is the internal leader who will guide the initiative, ensure resources are available, and drive overall success.
IT Champion
The IT Champion is the key point of contact for technical setup. This person will work with our team on networking, security, and troubleshooting.
Do you have an internal IT team?
This clarifies whether you have in-house IT resources available or rely on outside providers. It helps us understand how technical tasks will be supported.
Are you CMMC Level 2 Compliant?
Some manufacturers—particularly those in defense supply chains—must meet Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 standards. This affects how networks and data are secured.
Are your ethernet machines networked?
We need to confirm whether your machines are already connected to your network so they can be integrated with MachineMetrics.
Are network cables shielded and away from powerlines?
Shielded cabling reduces electrical interference and ensures reliable machine data collection.
Do you have IP addresses assigned or available for the machines and saved in our connectivity tracker?
Every machine connection requires an IP address. Confirming this in advance prevents setup delays.
Can you ping each L1 / L2 ethernet-enabled machine?
This confirms that your machines are reachable across the network, a critical step before installation.
Have you tested each cable?
Verifying cabling ensures that physical connections are functional and won’t cause downtime during setup.
Is there a VLAN/subnet configured for machines?
A dedicated VLAN or subnet isolates machine traffic, improving performance and simplifying troubleshooting.
Does your network support PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
If your switches provide Power over Ethernet, some devices can be powered directly via the network, reducing hardware needs.
Is your machine network currently air gapped?
If your machine network is isolated from your corporate or external networks, we may need to adjust the installation approach to ensure connectivity.
Next Steps
After submitting your DOR:
1. Our team reviews your responses.
2. We confirm readiness and address any risks.
3. Installation is scheduled and your machines are connected.
The DOR ensures everyone is aligned and prepared so that installation goes as smoothly as possible.
