Introduction
Citizen-Cincom machines come equipped with either a FANUC or a Mitsubishi Control. The control make and control model for any given machine will determine the data collection methodology to be undertaken.
Topics covered in this article
This article contains the following topics:
Citizen Machines With FANUC Controls
For Citizen Machines with FANUC controls, please refer to our article on connecting your machine using FANUC FOCAS as your primary resource.
Citizen Machines with Mitsubishi Controls
Mitsubishi is the most commonly used control on Citizen machines. There are several Mitsubishi control-types, each with different requirements for data collection.
Mitsubishi NCU Required Firmware Upgrades
Citizen machines with Mitsubishi controls may require a software update to ensure that MachineMetrics integrates successfully. Ensuring the control software is up to date is critical to a successful integration.
Before configuring your control for communication with MachineMetrics, please contact your Citizen machine vendor and request that your Mitsubishi NCU firmware be updated to the latest version. This will ensure that MachineMetrics can access control data from the machine without system freezes or interruption.
Once you have confirmed that your firmware is up to date, communicate with your Customer Success Manager to ensure your gateway meets the proper requirements. Once you have spoken with your CSM, you can proceed in configuring your M7 for communication.
Mitsubishi Controls
Meldas
Meldas controls are too old for data communication and need I/O integration. Please please refer to our article on Integrating MachineMetrics with I/O as your primary resource.
M600s
M600 controls require an I/O integration.
M700s
All Citizens with a Mitsubishi M7/700 control support the MachineMetrics MTConnect Adapter which runs on our Edge Device. If you have an M7/700 series control you are trying to connect. Please follow the steps in the below video:
