Introduction
Importing Operations allows you to add and configure a large number of Operations at the same time. This is useful if you have a Operations list from your ERP or another source that you need to get into MachineMetrics.
* Please Note: If you choose to automatically add/update Operations using an integration with your ERP, you will need to use the legacy CSV formatting for that process.

Import Process
Upload your file
Select Import Operations from the selections on the Operations page
Upload your file by dragging/dropping the file from your desktop to the Operations Import page
Minimum required fields for the Import
Name and Default Expected Part Time are the minimum required fields to import Operations.
Note: We only support YYYY-MM-DD
for date entries in your file because other formats can be ambiguous due to the fact that international customers use different formats. For example, 01/05/2021 could be January 5th or it could be May 1st depending on whether you’re in the US or Germany.
Map Properties
This part of the import process includes choosing how the fields within your file will map to the properties within MachineMetrics. You will notice that each of the columns from your file will be listed on the left side along with a preview of the data from that column.
On the right side, you will see a drop-down where you can select which MachineMetrics property you would like to map the data to in our system.
Auto-Archive Unmatched Operations
Selecting this checkbox at the bottom of the Map Properties page of the import process will archive all Operations currently listed in MachineMetrics that are not listed in the file you are importing.
How are Operations identified for archiving?
Operations unique identifiers include Name, Part, Operation, and Lot. Any Operations that matches these fields will not be archived. Any that do not, will be archived, and those Operations will no longer be available for dispatch.
Review & Import
Reviewing your import allows you to see how your Operations will be imported and formatted within MachineMetrics. Additionally, you have the opportunity to save the mapping you created as a template to be used in future imports.
Creating & Using Operations Import Templates
Selecting the checkbox to save the mapping as a Operations Import Template will make the template available on your next import.
When importing a new file, selecting to add a template will map the properties on the uploaded file the same as in the template you created. Below you can see an example of a template called "test upload" that is available to be added to the import:
Once your import is completed, you will see the list of Operations on your Operations page. If there are issues with your import or file, you will be notified during the import process.
