This article outlines the data standards that need to be met in order for MachineMetrics to connect to your machine(s). Each of the standards and protocols below has a quick checklist of items needed for us to connect to and support data flow from the machine. For additional information on how we collect data using any of these protocols, visit the reference articles listed in each section.
**Please note that some of the items below may require that you reach out to your machine builder directly.
MTConnect
What we need:
- IP address
FANUC Focus
What we need:
- IP address
OPC-UA
What we need:
- IP address
- Physical ethernet port on the machine where OPC-UA data is available.
- Adapter port number where OPC-UA data can be found.
- Data map- a map that lets us know what each data tag means
*If you don’t know what your OPC-UA map is, consult with your machine builder or integrator - Understanding of what data items translate to in the real world.
*Which data items are cycle time, part count, alarm, etc?
ModbusTCP
What we need:
- IP address
- Physical ethernet port on the machine where ModbusTCP data is available.
- Adapter port number where ModbusTCP data can be found.
- Data map- a map that lets us know what each data tag means
*If you don’t know what your ModbusTCP map is, consult with your machine builder or integrator - Understanding of what data items translate to in the real world.
*Which data items are cycle time, part count, alarm, etc?
*An addendum to the data map that communicates what you consider:
EtherNet/IP
- IP address
- Physical ethernet port on the machine where EtherNet/IP data is available.
- Adapter port number where EtherNet/IP data can be found.
- Data map- a map that lets us know what each data tag means
*If you don’t know what your EtherNet/IP map is, consult with your machine builder or integrator - Understanding of what data items translate to in the real world.
*Which data items are cycle time, part count, alarm, etc?
