Introduction:
Configure the default warning and failure thresholds for metric goals throughout MachineMetrics and are used to drive the color context of the data on screen in various places such as Current Shift Dashboard and Report Builder. These values will be used as the defaults for new machines and jobs but can be overridden on an individual basis in the machine or job itself.
The settings you enter in these fields should be determined in consultation with your MachineMetrics Customer Success Manager and based on your best estimate of performance expectations. These settings can and should be adjusted based on actual observed performance. For example, if all your machines are always red, your thresholds are probably too high, while if all machines are always green (operating at or above your performance goal), the performance thresholds may be too low.
Note: These are the default performance goal threshold settings. Performance goals configured for a specific job or machine will override the performance goals set in these fields.
How to get there:
Login into MachineMetrics > hover over Settings > select System Settings.
Topics covered in this article:
Utilization
The threshold is triggered when a Machine goes below the configured In-Cycle percentage. These values are used as defaults when configuring machines.
Warning: The Utilization threshold percentage that defines the warning level within your company. Any Utilization metric that falls below this level will display “Orange” throughout MachineMetrics.
Failure: The Utilization threshold percentage that defines the failure level within your company. Any Utilization metric that falls below this level will display “Red” throughout MachineMetrics.
OEE
The threshold is triggered when a Machine goes below the configured Metric Goal percentage. These values are used for determining the colors on the Performance Dashboard for OEE. Enter the numbers here that represent the warning and failure percentage thresholds that you want MachineMetrics to use based on the OEE performance goal.
Warning: The OEE threshold percentage defines the warning level within your company. Any OEE metric that falls below this level will display “Orange” throughout MachineMetrics.
Failure: iThe Utilization threshold percentage that defines the failure level within your company. Any OEE metric that falls below this level will display “Red” throughout MachineMetrics.
Parts Goal
The threshold is triggered when a Machine’s current job run performance goes below the configured Metric Goal percentage. These values are used as defaults when configuring jobs. Enter the numbers here that represent the warning and failure percentage thresholds that you want MachineMetrics to use based on the parts performance goal for a configured job.
Warning: The Parts Goal threshold percentage defines the warning level within your company. Any Parts Goal metric that falls below this level will display “Orange” throughout MachineMetrics.
Failure: The Parts Goal threshold percentage that defines the warning level within your company. Any Parts Goal metric that falls below this level will display “Red” throughout MachineMetrics.
Example
If you enter 90% in the Parts Goal Warning field and 80% in the Parts Goal Failure field, any machine operating at 80-89% of its parts goal will display orange in the Parts Goal Dashboard and any machine operating at <80% of its parts goal will display red.
