If your machine stops reporting because your MachineMetrics Edge Device loses power, either due to a factory-wide power outage or due to the power cable accidentally becoming unplugged, this will result in data loss during the period that the Edge Device was powered off. Your MachineMetrics Edge is designed to power back on after a power failure. It will, however, maintain all data that was captured before and after a restart or a power failure.
However: If your machine stops reporting due to a loss of internet/network connectivity, but the Edge Device remains powered on, this will not result in any loss of data; The MachineMetrics Edge Device continues to receive data from your machine and maintains a backup so when the connection is restored, all data that was captured will be sent to the internet.
