Accessing the Company Page Back to Topics
To navigate to the 'Company' page, hover over Settings in the main navigation and select Company from the application pull-down menu as shown below.
Company Page Layout and Functions Back to Topics
The Company page is divided into the following sections:
Company Information Back to Topics
In the Company Information section, you can edit your company name and address as they will appear within MachineMetrics. You can also view the time zone and start of day that were configured by MachineMetrics for your implementation. In most implementations, the entry in the Start of Day field should match the start of your first shift.
IMPORTANT! The Start of Day and Time Zone entries displayed in the Company Information section are what MachineMetrics uses to determine the overall boundaries for your shift logic. If you find that either the Start of Day or Time Zone entry is incorrect, contact your MachineMetrics Customer Success Manager immediately for assistance.
Shifts Back to Topics
Shifts are entered by MachineMetrics based on the shift logic summited by the customer and are only able to be modified by MachineMetrics employees. If an error or adjustment is needed to the schedules please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or submit a support ticket for resolution.
The Shifts section displays a table with the daily shift logic that is being applied to your MachineMetrics implementation. The Shifts table presents the following information:
- Shift name
- Days covered by the shift
- Start time of the shift
- End time of the shift
See Determining Your Shift Logic Requirements for the general requirements of all MachineMetrics shift logic configurations, and some specific considerations that may apply to your implementation.
Shift Overview Back to Topics
This Shift Overview section displays a chart that illustrates the shift logic being implemented in your MachineMetrics environment by name and by day (Sunday-Saturday), with a red line indicating the configured Start of Day.
Configuration Back to Topics
The Configuration section displays the access token that can be used when configuring your local server.
Determining Your Shift Logic Requirements Back to Topics
"Shift logic" is the method that MachineMetrics uses to divide up or segment your company's operational data by day and time. Determining your company's MachineMetrics shift logic requires consultation between your company's key stakeholders and your MachineMetrics Customer Success Manager. The shift logic settings that are selected based on these consultations are usually configured before integration activities begin or immediately after integration completes, and can only be configured by MachineMetrics personnel.
A Shift Worksheet is attached to this article that you can use before you meet with your Customer Success Manager to expedite the shift logic determination during your meeting.
General Shift Logic Requirements Back to Topics
The shift logic for any MachineMetrics implementation must meet the following requirements:
- Only one shift logic can be used
- All hours in a day and all days of the week (24/7) must be covered by a shift, including days/times which your company is closed or not operating
- Shift times cannot overlap
- Shift names must match your company's shift naming conventions (1st/2nd/3rd, Day/Evening/Overnight, and so on)
Additional Shift Logic Considerations Back to Topics
The general MachineMetrics shift logic requirements may lead to some additional shift logic considerations for your specific implementation.
My Company Has More Than One Shift Logic Back to Topics
Some companies may have more than one shift logic. For example, one department may work 8-hour shifts while another works 12-hour shifts. MachineMetrics does not support this operational configuration as it would lead to the same data existing in two shifts simultaneously, so that the software could not properly assign the data. In the above example scenario, MachineMetrics would recommend selecting the 12-hour shift logic, which would encompass the 8-hour shift data as well. Managers and executives viewing reports would then have to take into account how this configuration would impact the operating data of the department working the 8-hour shifts.
My Company Has Overlapping Shifts Back to Topics
Some companies may have overlapping shifts to accommodate employees with specific work time needs. For example, a specific employee may need to arrive two hours after one shift starts and leave two hours after the shift ends. MachineMetrics does not support this operational configuration as it would lead to the same data existing in two shifts simultaneously, so that the software could not properly assign the data. In the above example scenario, Managers and executives viewing reports would then have to take into account how this would impact the operating data of the machines operating during a non-standard shifts.
