MachineMetrics gives Administrative users the ability to easily add new machines in just a few clicks. Data fields will be automatically detected and mapped. The following machine integration types are supported with a MachineMetrics subscription:
Support for machines that have the MTConnect adapter running on the machine. Various machine vendors support MTConnect - some might require purchasing a software adapter from the machine tool vendor or 3rd party. Siemens Sinumerik 820D MTConnect adapters can be purchased directly from MachineMetrics.
Machines with FANUC i-series controls often include FOCAS and is natively supported by MachineMetrics. First, FOCAS must be turned on with IP Address set. These instructions will help you configure Fanuc FOCAS.
MachineMetrics natively supports Citizen-Cincom machines with M700 controls. Ensure that the latest firmware is installed from your Citizen dealer and follow these instructions for setting the IP Address.
Machines that are setup with an OPC UA Server can be natively connected. You'll need to configure each tag in a text file that can be edited in the app. (currently not available for a self install - contact MachineMetrics support)
For HAAS machines that are connected with a serial server. (currently not available for a self install - contact MachineMetrics support)
For machines with Mitsubishi M70 controls. (currently not available for a self install - contact MachineMetrics support)
Heidenhain w/ option 18
For machines with Heidenhain controls and Option 18 installed. (currently not available for a self install - contact MachineMetrics support)
Legacy machines, or machines without support for the above adapters require hardware to integrate. This is the adapter type that is used, which uses Digital IO and sensors. (currently not available for a self install - contact MachineMetrics support)
Adding the Machine to the Dashboard
To add a new machine, click settings (the gear icon in the upper right), choose Workcenters, and then click the button "Add Workcenter". This will bring up the following form. Fill in the machine display name, select the integration type, and input the IP Address. The other fields are optional (make/model/year) but useful.
